ADMINISTRATION AND INFORMATION SERVICES DIVISION
The Administration and Information Services Division is responsible for providing the Department with a support system in the areas of Human Resource Management, Technical Services and Financial Planning, including maintaining personnel files, and storing and retrieving electronic personnel data.
The staff plays an important role in the operation of the Department and with a wide variety of clerical and analytical skills, they are able to accomplish their daily assignments from the Administrative, Fire Prevention, Training and Operations staff.

Human Resource Management
Human Resource Management consists of payroll, position control, processing of disciplinary actions, and the acquisition and orientation of new employees. In addition, this Division oversees personnel transactions including hiring, promotion, step increases and personnel transfers.
This Division administers and maintains all information pertaining to the Provincial Uniform Services Pension Plan, which includes compiling and calculating all correspondence to employees and Provincial Government Pensions Department concerning pension information.
Technical Services
Technical Services has continuously worked with the Information Management Service Department of the City of St. John’s to keep pace with the ever-changing technology and to up-grade as many systems as possible.
Financial Management
Financial Management includes budget formulation, presentation and monitoring, forecasting of capital needs of the department, and payment for goods and services received.
